Unparalleled Professionalism and Service

Over our many years of experience, our lawyers have gained the expertise to handle legal matters with efficiency and thoroughness, always fine-tuning our detailed plans of attack. At the Law offices of Edge and Kimbell, our lawyers are devoted to ensuring our clients' needs are met to the best of our ability, every step of the way. Our main areas of practice, and our approaches to them, are as follows.

REAL ESTATE
ESTATE PLANNING
SMALL BUSINESS PLANNING

Real Estate, particularly closing, but including every aspect of purchases and sales: titles, liens, boundary lines, commercial leases, mortgages and foreclosures, zoning issues, construction defects, title examinations, transaction settlements. etc. We serve all kinds of organizations, including credit unions, small local banks, builders, small businesses, national mortgage companies, and more.

One example of our systematic approach is found in the series of steps we follow for real estate closings, of which we accomplish approximately 2000 a year. It is vitally important to confirm a title to a piece of property is good, verifying that there are no disputes about ownership or boundaries. To ensure this, we have, for each step of the way, a specialist whose high level of experience makes certain that he or she is prepared for any eventuality. The people you'll see are:

  1. A specialist filing the initial title order
  2. A pre-closing processor, who deals with loan payoffs and title reports
  3. A closing secretary, who deals with lender documents
  4. And finally a closing attorney, who carefully goes through the transaction with clients

And through every interaction we have with clients, our real estate attorneys stick closely to our central principle of serving clients closely and carefully; we care too much about our clients to ever let them feel ignored or slighted. We charge small fees as to the contracts themselves, but we put most fees toward closing costs.

If you are a borrower, you might wonder what sort of documents you may be asked to sign at a closing. Generally, a closing for a purchase can be concluded in an hour while a refinance transaction takes approximately 30 minutes.

Documents vary from lender to lender; however, there are standard instruments for notes and security deeds that most lenders use. Most of these documents are produced by the Federal National Mortgage Association (FannieMae). Click the link below to view some of these documents.

Estate Planning, including trusts, last wills and testaments, living wills, durable powers of attorney for health, general powers of attorney, etc. If you're concerned about your estate, and the future security of your loved ones, you owe it to yourself to consider an estate plan.

In area of estate planning, lawyers serve their clients best by giving them plenty of personal attention. Since each estate is different, our approach is tailored to the specifics of each case; this is one area in which we don't start with a systematic work plan. These are often difficult matters; people need sympathetic, honest lawyers who will patiently walk clients through their various options. That's what we do, and we do it well.

We offer an online Estate Planning Questionnaire and it is available here for download.

Small Business Formation, such as Limited Liability Company (LLC), corporations, Limited Partnerships, partnerships, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP) and professional corporations for professionals and entrepreneurs. As with real estate closings, forming a business entity in Georgia requires following a well-thought-out series of steps. Our attorneys guide you through:

  1. The initial consultation, including choice of entity and name reservation
  2. The initial filing
  3. The set up for initial meetings
  4. The set-up for stock shares
  5. The taxpayer meetings
  6. The set-up of records, and more

Our system comes from years of experience, but as always, our primary focus is on the needs of the customer. Our small business attorneys take great personal satisfaction in helping people set up businesses; it's more than a job, it's a way to help people.

If you're located anywhere in the U.S. and need help with the above issues, contact us soon. Or stop by one of our offices in Fayetteville or Stockbridge, GA if you're anywhere in the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta Georgia area, including Fayetteville, Stockbridge, Jonesboro, McDonough, Union City, Fairburn, Peachtree City or Fulton County, Fayette County, DeKalb County, Spalding County, Clayton County or Henry County. Hope to hear from you soon!
